NEW for 2008
Pre-2-Baton
This is a new event for 2008!
It is part of the foundation events (marching and presentation). It uses the same music as presentation. This event is designed as an introductory event to encourage twirlers who want to start twirling two batons.
Parade
March
This event was new in 2006. It is part of the foundation events (marching & presentation). It uses the same marching music. Twirlers perform a "parade" routine, marching and twirling at the same time.
Explanation: Perform 32 counts of a Parade routine to the Basic Strut marching music. You may enter individually or with a partner (pairs).
(1) Hold during the 8 count introduction.
(2) March in place (do not make a box) while twirling.
(3) Remain in step.
(4) End with the music at attention or in a pose.
Lawn Chairs at Competitions
(This isn't new, but it bears repeating) Sorry folks. The policy of most of the schools that we rent is that for fire safety reasons, we can't have audience members sitting in their own folding lawn chairs in the gyms. We suggest that you look into the padded, supported bleacher chairs available at most sporting goods stores. Accommodations will be made for handicapped fans, however.
