The state contest was at Portland Lutheran
School in 2007, a new venue for us but a very nice facility. The
first order of business is to get stretched out and warmed up:
The team routines went very well! If any body has pictures of the teams in their costumes, please send them to Debbie or put them on a CD to put up here!!!!!
After teams, the individual competition was
very fun. If you got to stand on the podium, you'll find your picture
here:
An important part of every State Contest is
when we award the "Guiding Star Award." This year it the Oregon Baton
Council voted to present it to John Chamberlain, a man who has
dedicated his whole life to advancing the sport of baton. John
started his baton life in Portland, and we were fortunate to have him
return home to judge at this year's contest.

After all the awards were over and most of
the audience had gone home, the last remaining Kellys posed for a
picture with their coaches.
